How
We Are Financed
Doorway
is funded by both financial contributions and contributions
'in kind'
In
accordance with good practice in the sector, it has always
been Doorway's policy to ensure that funding is secured from
a variety of sources.
It
is also our policy to generate as much income as possible
from our own community via events we have organised including
the annual SleepOut and our Community Engagement Programme
using the media and social networking to generate public commitment
to support the positive work that we do.
Of
the £63,711 raised last year (2009 - 2010), 56% came
from local donations and events organised by ourselves or
others.
In
addition we benefit from substantial quantities of support
in kind (contributions in kind) including volunteer time (estimated
value £30,000 per year), food, toiletries and used clothing.
