Doorway Staff

This part of the Doorway website will introduce you to our staff and other key personnel and the roles that they play.

Doorway currently has 3 part-time staff:

  • Project Manager
  • Project Assistant
  • Support Services Manager
 

Lisa Lewis - Project Manager

Current Responsibilities:-

  • Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer of CVSNW for the day-to-day management of the project, including fundraising, community engagement recruitment and management of volunteers.

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • BSc Hons degree in Psychology and Sociology
  • Certificate in Introduction to Counselling Skills BCAP
  • School Parent Governor and nominated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Governor.
  • Trustee of the Sheldon School Enrichment Fund Charity
  • Experience of fundraising, planning and implementation of events as Chair of the school PTFA
  • Experience of website design and maintenance
  • Currently studying CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing
  • Active member of the Jensen Owners Club - writes articles in the club magazine on the trials and tribulations of owning two Jensen Interceptors!
  • Jensen Owners Club Families' and Women's Representative
  • 2 years experience of working at Doorway as PR & Marketing Officer

 

Lisa Lewis, Project Manager

Siobhan Chisholm - Project Assistant

Current Responsibilities:-

  • Provision of administrative and clerical support for Doorway and Friends of Doorway

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • Various qualifications in computer work, including ITQ, CLAIT, ECDL and OCR L3 in office and administration software
  • Certificate in customer services
  • BTEC HNC in Business
  • 4 years experience in administration and data collation
  • 3 years experience in customer service
  • volunteer at church creche
  • enjoys family walks with dog and going to the gym

Siobhan Chisholm, Project Assistant

Karen Moore - Support Services Manager

Current Responsibilities:-

  • Day to day running of the project
  • Recruitment, supervision and training of volunteers
  • Develop and provide high quality individualised support services for our guests
  • Develop Doorway's 'Moving On' support programme with guests

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • CQSW - Certificate of Qualification in Social Work
  • Over 14 yrs at Social Services in the Children and Families team, firstly as a Family Support Worker for over 7 years, and then returning as a Social Worker after qualifying
  • 4 years part-time experience as a Women's Development Worker at a voluntary mental health day service in Swindon
  • 5 years experience in Supported and Residential Housing
  • Service Manager for Rethink in Bristol and Jephson Housing in Swindon, providing 'Move On' support to people with mental health problems.
  • More recently working as a Project Manager for United Response in Chippenham, providing residential housing support and care for people with learning disabilities.

Karen Moore, Support Services Manager

Matthew Smith, Salvation Army Community Centre Manager

Current Responsibilities:-

  • Management and day-to-day running of the of The Salvation Army Hall
  • Working with Doorway staff to ensure safe running of drop-in sessions

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • BA(HONS) Business Studies Degree, Bournemouth University
  • Prince 2 Foundation Project Management
  • Has previous and ongoing experience of social work within the Salvation Army
  • After qualifying from university, spent 2 months as a unit leader at a Salvation Army children’s camp in America. This involved managing 4 councillors and up to 44 campers
  • Previously worked for Virgin Mobile as a Telesales Specialist and a Project Manager
  • 18 years experience as Service Manager for 'Help Counselling Services'
  • Has recently spent 3 months at Chikankata, Zambia, writing project proposals and business plans in order for the hospital to start to become self sustainable
  • Plays trumpet for The Salvation Army Chippenham and Trowbridge Corps
  • Bath rugby supporter

Matthew Smith, Salvation Army Community Centre Manager

David Thompson, Trainer

Current Responsibilities:-

  • Responsible for the training of volunteers.

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • Currently part-time Pastoral Worker for Station Hill Baptist Church and Member of Leadership Group of 'Seeds' Network of Churches.
  • For the last 16 years he has been and Executive Director of Swindon and Wiltshire Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service (SWADS).
  • 12 years experience as Senior Worker for WCC Youth and Community Service
  • 18 years experience as Service Manager for 'Help Counselling Services'
  • 5 years experience as a member of the Drugs and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) Training Team, specialising in 'Young People and Substance Use'
  • Southwest Region Alcohol Trainers Trainer.

David Thompson, Trainer / Relief Support Worker

Captain Lisa Goble, Pastoral Support and Line Manager to Community Centre Manager

Professional Qualifications and Experience:-

  • Full time Salvation Officer (Minister), moved to Chippenham in 2008
  • Was commissioned (ordained) in 2004 with a Diploma in Higher Education and was ordained to Guildford Salvation Army where she established a food bank and drop-in service for homeless people and those in crisis, including families. Also created a full time post for a Community Manager.
  • Has a BS (Hons) in Pastoral Care with Psychology.
  • Before entering the ministry, worked as a podiatrist in private practice.
  • Owns lots of animals:- 1 rabbit, 8 guinea pigs, 3 goldfish and 6 pond fish.
