How You Can Help - Donations

We need donations of food and clothing for our guests to take away from the drop-in centre. For more information on how to donate food or clothing please telephone Doorway on 01249 445385.

We also need donations of money.

Doorway needs in the region of £100,000 a year to keep going

Charitable trusts and statutory bodies are reluctant to fund running costs year after year and, therefore, we aim to become self-sufficient as soon as possible.

Everything depends on achieving sustainable funding.

You can make a secure donation online right now by credit or debit card. We use an external site to process your donations securely and efficiently.

If you would like to donate to Doorway, the easiest way is by using your mobile phone.

Simply send a text message to 70070 including our code - DOOR22 – and a monetary amount:

You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10. After you’ve sent the text, you’ll receive a confirmation text back containing details on how to add Gift Aid, meaning Doorway could benefit from an extra 25%.

This service is free for Doorway, and anyone on any mobile network can use it to donate to the organisation.

Your donation will be deducted from your mobile phone credit, or added to your monthly phone bill. You won’t be charged for the text message either.

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, the charity you are supporting will receive an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further.

This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing.
