Box Women's Institute Donates Christmas Gifts

Members of Boxlea Women’s Institute donated gifts to the homeless at their recent Christmas party.

They were brought to the Doorway Project in Chippenham where they were warmly received by Margaret Cleverley, who manages the project, and Karen Moore.

This project provides help for the homeless in North Wiltshire; as Margaret Cleverley says, “This is a hidden problem in rural areas. Most people think of our towns and cities as the place where people are homeless and living on the street, but rural areas suffer just as much. We have helped 120 new people since April this year with food, the chance to develop trust and self esteem again, with advice and education. We are so grateful to Boxlea WI for their support.”

Boxlea WI makes gifts to a charity every year and heard about this project this autumn, so decided to make their donations to this very important work. “At Christmas time, nobody should feel forgotten.”
