Doorway Scores the Winning GOAL !

On Saturday 20th January Doorway was presented with a cheque for £2,500 at Chippenham Town Football Club, by Derek Hooper at half time on the pitch at the Chippenham v Hitchin football match.

The money is from the Football Association, since Chippenham were in the first round proper of the FA Cup and was part of their share of the Charity Shield.

The FA Community Shield is the traditional curtain-raiser to the domestic season between the League and FA Cup Champions. The funds available for distribution include the general admission ticket income net of match expenses and all profits from the sale of the match day programme.

A section of the fund is distributed between each of the 124 clubs that participated from the First Round Proper of The FA Cup last season. Each club is asked to nominate a local charity or community based initiative to receive its share of the fund.

Chippenham Town Football Club chose Doorway and Gateway as their local charities and each received a cheque for £2,500

Doorway would like to thank everyone on the board at Chippenham Town Football Club and Gary Lawrence at the Gazette and Herald
