This part of Doorway's website looks at the stories of some of our guests.

It is a chance for them to tell you about themselves, their lives, and the impact that Doorway has had on them.

It is also a chance for you to better understand the realities of homelessness, and the life events which can lead people to find themselves without somewhere to call 'home'.

Doorway doesn't claim to be able to help enable all the guests to acquire tenancies or break free from the downward spiral that engulfs them once they have found themselves homeless, but the services that we provide can ensure that for two days a week all our visitors have a reason to get up in the morning.

Moving on from homelessness is no easy task. But, as these guests and others like them are discovering, it's a voyage of self-discovery that leads to a new found confidence.

In 2009 one of Doorway's guests, Steve, gave a brutally honest interview which was broadcast on BBC Radio Wiltshire. He talks about heroin, alcohol and what led him to sleeping rough. click here to listen to the interview in windows media player.
